The mission of the Strafford County Sheriff’s Office is to affirmatively promote, preserve, provide and deliver a feeling of safety, security and quality services to all members of our community.

The mission is a commitment to quality performance by all members and employees as we enforce the Laws of New Hampshire, the United States of America, and their Constitutions with dignity, integrity and professional service to all of our constituents.

We pledge to identify and solve the problems of our increasingly complex and diverse society by building dynamic partnerships that will enhance the security and quality of life for those we serve.

The Strafford County Sheriff’s Office Transportation section is responsible for transportation to over one
hundred different locations throughout New England. These services are provided to our local District Courts,
Superior Court and Probate Court. We also transport all committals of Involuntary Emergency Admissions
(IEA). Most times these services are performed under very difficult weather conditions.

The Transportation Division is also responsible for transporting inmates that are housed at the Strafford
County House of Corrections who require medical services of a doctor, a dentist, or overnight local
hospital stays.

In addition, juvenile transportation and security is another responsibility and is an area of great concern that
mandates special consideration and proper handling pursuant to our juvenile laws. The transportation section
carries a great responsibility in this respect.
