A meeting of the Special Committee to Look at Long Term Care in Strafford County has been scheduled on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. in the Café Conference Room, Lower Level, 259 County Farm Road, Dover New Hampshire. This meeting will focus on estimates of: the number of nursing home beds needed in Strafford County in the decades to come, the number of skilled nursing/rehab beds needed for the same time period compared to the current numbers, the number of assisted living units available. Other items to discuss are: a brief review of the Choices for Independence Program to include where it is administered and by whom; what are the buildable lots available on County property; to present ideas for addressing the Long Term Care / nursing home needs of Strafford County; and discuss field trips to Merrimack and Sullivan County nursing homes in October.
All delegation members are invited to attend the committee meetings.
